Belgian composer, pianist and singer Julien Van Aerschot develops his musical universe across neo-classical, electronic and pop, with an approach combining improvisation and cinematic writing, nourished by influences as diverse as Chilly Gonzales, Moderat, Bill Evans, Angelo Badalamenti, Joep Beving, Odezenne, Steve Reich, Chopin, David Bowie and Tame Impala. Active on stage for over fifteen years and a composer of film and theatre music, he combines improvisation, sound design and orchestral writing with a sensitivity for storytelling.
